A Welcome from the Conference Chair
On behalf of the Biofabrication 2016 Conference Organizing Committee and our distinguished group of leaders, scholars, clinicians and industry representatives from around the world, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Winston-Salem, North Carolina! This year’s conference offers an innovative and comprehensive 3-day program emphasizing the latest in biofabrication methods, materials, and technologies, their impact on medicine and, ultimately, patients. I am further delighted to share the good news that this year’s conference attracted a record number of participants joining us from across the globe, and offers over 320 invited lectures and scientific presentations covering all aspects of biofabrication. Aligned with the goals of ISBF, this year’s conference continues to emphasize the importance of the education and training of our young investigators by promoting a variety of special scientific, social and networking activities crucial to shaping next-generation leaders in the field. Also, as an exciting new component this year, we have dedicated special industry sessions to provide all participants upto- date information on new tools and innovative products currently available for research. I would like to thank the Board Members and Awards Committee of the ISBF, Conference Scientific Advisory Board, Plenary and Keynote Speakers and Session Chairs for their support and contributions toward making this an enlivening and stimulating conference. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the Conference Organizing Committee and the Team Members of WFIRM for their dedication and commitment in putting together a stellar program and activities. Finally, special thanks to our Conference Sponsors, Exhibitors, Endorsing Organizations and Supporters for all their support and critical participation. I hope this conference will further interactions across sectors and continents, and that all enjoy the stimulating environment of science, networking and socializing, as well as experiencing “Southern Hospitality” in the heart of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I look forward to an energizing, enjoyable and productive meeting for all.
